Five months after the foundation stone was laid, a ditch was dug for the construction of the building. The ditch has been dug deep enough to reveal the foundation of a nearby residential building. Apart from this, due to cracks in the nearby residential buildings, the residents fear that the buildings will collapse. More than 150 people live in the concerned residential building alone. Residents allege that despite several complaints, no action has been taken.
We spoke to Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board officials about this matter. “When digging a ditch for the construction of a community welfare center, people are scared to see that the foundation pillar of the residence is exposed. In fact, there is no damage to the residence. The building is very stable. The residents of the residence need not be afraid. The area where the pillar is exposed will be closed tomorrow. At the same time, if the authorities in the area have made a mistake in this matter, They will also be investigated departmentally and action will be taken,” he said.
While saying that there is no danger, the officials who came to investigate told the residents of the apartment to stay somewhere else during the night, which has caused great fear to the residents.
