In this case, Rajini has visited and enjoyed this museum. I spoke to director S.B. Muthuraman about this. He directed many films including ‘Muratukkalai’, ‘Bokirraja’, ‘Velaykaraan’ and ‘Dharmatin Thalaivan’ which made Rajini a commercial hero.
“We had invited Rajini sir to the opening ceremony of AVM Museum. At that time, he was shooting outside the city, so he could not attend. Rajini sir had said, ‘I will come on another occasion’. So he has come today to congratulate us. We welcomed him, including Saravanan sir, Kugan. Rajini sir toured the entire museum. Rajini sir was surprised by saying, ‘How have you preserved such a treasure. Everything is still in running condition’. Then he saw the bike he drove in ‘Bayum Puli’, the Pallaku in ‘Shivaji’ and the car. He enjoyed this effort of Gugan sir very much. Appreciated Rajini sir. Saravanan sir also inquired after his well being.
Besides, apart from the objects now in the museum, they are going to bring in new and more objects used in the films. “Every month they plan to make some changes in the museum and surprise them layer by layer,” says S.B.M.
