The Reserve Bank of India has issued a statement denying the disappearance of Rs 500 notes worth around Rs 88,000 crore, which were printed between 2015 and 2016.
According to a report released through RTI information requested by an activist named Manoranjan Roy, between April 2015 and December 2016, 8,810.65 million 500 rupee notes were printed at the currency press, of which only 7,260 million 500 rupee notes were received by the RBI.
