New Delhi: National Security Adviser Ajit Doval has said that if Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose had been alive at the time of independence, India would not have been divided into two.

Freedom fighter Netaji’s first memorial lecture was held in Delhi yesterday. National Security Adviser Ajit Doval said: Netaji has shown bravery on various occasions during his life.

He also had the audacity to challenge Mahatma Gandhi in particular. But Gandhi was foremost in political activity. After this, Netaji left the Congress and started the struggle. There are very few brave people in Indian and world history. Netaji was one of them.

‘I will fight the British. I will not beg for freedom. Freedom is my right. Netaji thought that I should get it. Had Netaji been alive at the time of independence, India would not have been divided into two. Mohammad Ali Jinnah had said that I will accept only one leader (Netaji).

In life the question arises whether the effort is more important or the result is more important. No one doubted Netaji’s efforts. Likewise Gandhi is respected by all. But people judge a person based on the results of his efforts. So, Netaji’s effort was in vain. He said this.
