Odisha: Nuclear-capable ‘Agni Prime’ missile successfully test-fired off Odisha coast by Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO).
The latest nuclear-capable missile ‘Agni Prime’ was successfully test-fired yesterday by the Defense Research and Development Organization from the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha. The central government said that all aspects of the missile functioned successfully during the test.
In the press release issued in this regard, “On the basis of three tests already, this night test has been conducted for the first time to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the missile launched in the army. Radar, telemetric, electronic glass fiber tracking system etc. were installed at various points along the trajectory of this missile.
Senior officials of the Defense Research and Development Organisation, Chiefs of Defense Forces visited this successful nuclear-armed missile test.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh commended the Defense Research and Development Organization and the Army for the successful test of the ‘Agni Prime’ missile and the outstanding performance,” it said.
