
New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department said that Cyclone Pipperjoy will gradually intensify and move north and northwest.
A low pressure area formed over Southeast Arabian Sea on Monday evening. It strengthened into a depression on Tuesday morning and became a deep depression in the evening. Later it strengthened and became a storm. The storm intensified into a severe storm on Wednesday. The India Meteorological Department said the storm will turn into a severe storm and move north and northwest on Thursday.
In a statement issued by the India Meteorological Department, “Pipperjoy is located in the East and Central Arabian Sea region at a distance of about 860 kilometers west-southwest of Goa and about 910 kilometers southwest of Mumbai at 05:30 am.
This storm will gradually intensify in the next 48 hours and move north-northwest. As a result, fishermen have been advised not to go fishing in the Arabian Sea, where the storm is likely to affect them, and those who have gone fishing in the sea have been advised to return to the shore immediately.
