Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been admitted to hospital.
He returned to Kolkata this afternoon after a two-day trip to the northern districts of the state for election campaigning ahead of panchayat elections in West Bengal on July 8. While traveling by helicopter from Jalpaiguri to Kolkata, the helicopter made an emergency landing due to heavy rain.
The helicopter made an emergency landing due to heavy rain while flying over the Baikuntapur forest. At that time, it is said that Chief Minister Mamata was injured. Following this, Mamata was rushed to the nearest government hospital after an emergency landing at Sevok Air Base near Siliguri. Doctors who examined him found injuries to his left knee and hip.
He was then treated. He returned home after treatment. It is reported that the doctors have advised him to take treatment from home. Earlier, footage of Mamata getting into a car from the hospital while sitting in a wheelchair was released.
