Tawfiq (24) hails from Ammakulam, Ariyamangalam, Trichy. He is the Ammakulam branch secretary of Democratic Youth Federation of India (Dyfi). Last night, when Tawfiq was on his way to Ammakulam area, a gang of about 10 people from the same area chased him and hacked him with a sickle. In this, Tawfiq received deep cuts in 10 places on his body and one place on his head.
Even when the people of the area were informed about the incident, the mysterious gang escaped from there. After that, the public rescued Tawfik, who was seriously injured in a flood of blood, and sent him to the Trichy Government Hospital for treatment.
