Edit option brought by WhatsApp.. How to use? Here is the explanation!

If the message we sent to someone on WhatsApp is wrong, then we should delete that message. It is no longer necessary. The facility to re-edit a sent message has now been introduced.

WhatsApp is a social media app used by more than 45 million people worldwide. Messages, photos, documents can be sent to others very easily through WhatsApp. In this way, the company keeps updating the useful WhatsApp app with various features. Edit button facility is now available in that row.

The WhatsApp edit button was tested among developers earlier this year. Then a WhatsApp message was updated to edit the next 15 minutes after it was sent. Since then this feature has been tested in the beta version of WhatsApp and is now available for use.

This was confirmed by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on his WhatsApp page.

He has also posted on his WhatsApp how to edit the WhatsApp message sent by us using this facility.

  • The edit button that has debuted on WhatsApp is not placed prominently. Instead, the option is housed inside the three-dot menu that appears at the top right of the screen when you select a message.
  • We have to open the chat page in WhatsApp and select the message we want to edit. Then, if you go to the three dots on the top right, there will be an edit button.
  • After selecting that button, your message will be ready for editing. After making the necessary changes we can send the message using send option.
  • There seems to be no limit to how many times a message can be edited once sent. That means you can edit a message as many times as you want.
  • But it can be done only within 15 minutes of sending the particular message. It is also said that each edited message will have a label indicating that it is an edited message.
