
Bhubaneswar: The husband has filed a complaint against the woman who claimed her husband died in the Odisha train accident to get compensation.
Geetanjali Dutta hails from Maniyabanta, Cuttack district, Odisha. She told the authorities that her husband had died in a train accident that occurred on the 2nd in Odisha and that she should pay compensation. He also identified a body. But on verification of the documents, his claim was found to be false. After that the police alerted Geetanjali. In this case, her husband Bijay Dutta has filed a complaint against Geetanjali at Maniyabanta Police Station. In it, he demanded “strict action against Gitanjali for trying to embezzle government money and giving false information that I am dead.”
The police said that the couple had been living separately for the past 13 years and now the wife has gone missing following her husband’s complaint.
The police have also told Gitanjali’s husband to file a complaint at Paganaga Bazar police station, Balasore district where the accident took place.
Meanwhile, Chief Secretary PK Jena has directed the authorities to take strict action against anyone trying to cheat by showing one of the unidentified bodies to get accident compensation.
