Gnanathiraviyam MP, who was the Secretary of the Education Standing Committee, is said to have arbitrarily decided to sell some of the school’s properties, including the playground, to private individuals. When there was opposition to this in the administration, it seems that he insisted on sacking those who opposed him. Bishop Barnabas refused and took a stand against him.
In this situation, a few days ago, when the meeting of the Education Standing Committee was held under the leadership of the Bishop, he spoke embarrassingly in the presence of the members of the committee and the Bishop. A related video has gone viral on social media. Seeing this, many CSI executives and members insisted on taking action against Gnanathiraviyam.
He was subsequently relieved of his duties. But he refused to accept it and a controversy arose when his supporters locked some rooms of the CSI office. The bishops complained to the party leadership regarding this action of DMK MP Gnanathiraviyam. Also, a complaint was sent to the party leadership in this regard through the intelligence department.
Bishop Godfrey Noble, who runs a separate church called JSM, had released a video accusing Gnanathirivyam MP of using the name of the ruling DMK in Nella marriage to threaten him. In it, he had insisted that the DMK leadership should take action against Gnanathiraviyam. The video went viral.
In this situation, information spread that the supporters of Gnanathiraviyam MP are going to take over the CSI office in Palayangottai. And so the followers of the bishop flocked there. Godfrey Noble was there then. The supporters of Gnanathiraviyam, who came there then, attacked Godbre Noble. He was seriously injured.
Information about the goings-on at the CSI wedding hall went to the DMK leadership. So the party leadership Gnanathiraviyam is dissatisfied with MP. So Duraimurugan, the general secretary of the party, has sent a notice to him. It has been ordered to give an explanation in person or by post within seven days for acting in a way that brings disrepute to the party.
Meanwhile, lawyer John has been arrested and released on bail in connection with the attack on the CSI wedding. Also, a case has been registered under five sections, including causing cruelty and assault on Gnanathiraviyam MP and his supporters.
The CSI members are displeased with the incidents of violence against the minority community in Nellai Vyudalam. More specifically, it seems that the party leadership will take action against the DMK leadership that the Gnanathiraviyam MP’s activities are unsatisfactory.
