Delhi: At a function attended by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the chanting of Modi slogans drew attention on social media.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today participated in the inauguration ceremony of East Delhi campus of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. While he was speaking at the function, some people interrupted his speech by chanting ‘Modi, Modi’. Kejriwal hit back at the sloganeers saying, “If slogans can improve the education system, a lot has happened in the last 70 years.”

The Aam Aadmi Party, which shared a video of the chanting on Twitter, alleged that BJP workers had deliberately created ruckus by participating in the event.

In the video, Arvind Kejriwal said, “I appeal to you by raising your hands. Everyone here, other parties and Aam Aadmi, listen to me for five minutes. If you don’t like it, keep chanting. I know you don’t like my ideas and thoughts.

Everyone has the right to speak in this democratic country. You can also give your desired opinion. But it is not right to chant while talking like this,” he said to the chanters.

Similarly, slogans were raised when Delhi Education Minister Adishi spoke. Then Atishi responded to those who chanted, “This is why we say education is needed for all”, and the crowd gave him a standing ovation.
