Incidents of violence have taken place during the filing of nomination papers in South 24 Parganas and Bankura districts for the last 4 days.

Trinamool Congress workers and ISF (Indian Secular Front) clashed in Bangori area of South 24 Parganas district. Following this, the police were gathered there.

In this case, the two parties clashed there for the 5th day yesterday. After that, the police rushed to the spot and dispersed the people who were involved in the clash with batons.

In this case, a gang threw country bombs and engaged in violence in the area. They also ransacked the cars parked there.

Police said that many activists from both the parties were injured in the incident of violence and they have been admitted to the hospital.

These incidents of violence took place because the official party candidates who came to file their nomination papers were prevented from filing their nomination papers by the party executives who did not get tickets.

The violent mob also hurled bombs at the police, including the Rapid Action Force, which was stationed for security. This made the area look like a war zone. Following this, the police have been gathered at the scene. Police are on 24-hour surveillance in the area.

Similarly, BJP workers and Trinamool Congress workers clashed in Indus area of Bankura district. Both factions pelted stones at each other.

Bangor Constituency MLA and ISF Party MLA Naushad Siddique said: “The thugs of Trinamool Congress Party have unleashed violence since last night during nomination filing. They are working on the idea that none of our party members should file nomination papers. This is what he said.

Trinamool Denial: State Trinamool Congress spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said, “There is no basis for the allegations made by the opposition parties. They are engaging in false propaganda to win elections. “It is the ISF party that is involved in the violence in this area,” he said.
