
New Delhi: The Kuki people of Manipur state protested yesterday in front of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s house to stop the ongoing violence in Manipur.
Last month in the state of Manipur, many civilians were killed in a clash between 2 ethnic groups. More than 200 houses were burnt. Following this, the security forces are engaged in search operation across the state. Security forces have been deployed at various places to maintain peace in the state.
Meanwhile, some Kuki people from Manipur came to Delhi and protested in front of Union Minister Amit Shah’s house yesterday. They raised slogans to protect the Kuki people who were being killed in Manipur.
They also raised slogans to stop riots in Manipur.
Subsequently, only 4 of the protesting Kuki people were allowed inside Amit Shah’s house and their petition was received. Others who protested were sent to Jandarmandar Maidan in Delhi.
