Chennai: A user has alleged on Twitter that the company is collecting personal data of users using Realme smartphones. He also shared the screenshot saying that Realme is using a special feature for this. In this case, Realme has reacted in this regard.
Realme, a Chinese electronics manufacturer that manufactures Android phones globally, regularly launches smartphones with new updates for its enterprise users. This company sells phones at budget prices in India. Realme emerged as a standalone brand after entering the market as a subsidiary of Oppo. The company recently launched the Realme 11 Pro 5G series of phones in India. In this case, this allegation has been placed on the company.
‘Enhanced Intelligent Services’ It is this feature that makes Realme accused. This feature is enabled in Realme UI 4.0 version. This feature seems to improve the performance of the device based on how users use their device (mobile).
In its expansion, it is said that this feature will collect details such as information about the mobile device, details about the use of applications among users, calendar events, text messages that have not been seen by users and missed calls (missed calls). It is not known whether users have to give permission for this or whether it is automatically collected by Realme. Referring to this, the Twitter user accused Realme.
Quoting the tweet, Minister of State for Information Technology and Electronics Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that an investigation will be conducted in this regard.

Realme reacted: We attach great importance to the privacy and security of our users. Enhanced Intelligent Services is dependent on better battery life and temperature performance of the phone. We make this clear. Realme stated that otherwise we do not collect data related to users’ SMS, calls and calendar details.
